Cuba’s iconic leader Fidel Castro gives his support to the new development of diplomatic talks between the United States of America and his homeland.
Although Castro bluntly said that he does not trust the policy of US, he is not closing the doors for the friendship of both nations to be restored. He stated in his letter to a student federation in Havana that he will always support cooperation and friendship among nations with differences, even adversaries.
Havana and US diplomatic talks
Last year, the leaders of US and Cuba announced to the public that the tension between the governments was already lifted. They have agreed on common grounds. Among the issues that they agreed was the release of prisoners who were allegedly doing spying activities. They also discussed the loosening of economic sanctions for Cuba.
Representatives from both nations have been busy in rebuilding economic and financial ties. Cuba has openly agreed for US to open banks in its soil. This will boost commercial ties for the two estranged countries.
